The government is trying to regulate alcohol beverages by creating a group of alcohol beverages and strictly regulating their distribution channels and the trade of alcohol beverages.
Any production and distribution that does not comply with government regulations is considered illegal goods.
Alcohol beverages can only be traded by business sectors who have a permit to trade alcohol beverages according to their classification of business from the Ministry of Trade.
Alcohol beverages from domestic or imported production that will be distributed must be labeled in accordance with statutory provisions. The sale of alcohol beverages is carried out separately from other goods for sale.
Alcohol Beverages Class B:
Alcohol beverages class B are beverages containing ethyl alcohol or ethanol (C2H5OH) with a content of more than 5% (five) percent to 20% (twenty) percent.
Types of alcoholic beverages included in class B include Reduced Alcohol Wine, Wine, Sparkling Wine/Champagne, Carbonated Wine, Wine Cocktail, Quinine Tonic Wine, Meat Wine/Beef Wine, Malt Wine, Fruit Wine, Cider, Pear/Perry Wine, Sake, Honey Wine/Mead, Wine Cocktail, Tuak/Toddy, Ginseng Wine.
Alcohol Beverages Class C:
Alcoholic beverages class C are beverages containing ethyl alcohol or ethanol (C2H5OH) with a content of up to 20% (twenty percent) to 45% (forty five percent).
Types of beverages included in class C alcoholic beverages are Whisky/Whiskies, Rum, Gin, Geneva, Vodka. The amount of alcoholic beverages that can be consumed varies, depending on the category.
